JUNIOR Operations Manager / Logistic Production (and Planning) Manager / Supply-chain Manager
  • Start date: When we find the right candidate
  • Where: ByNature, 490 – 1000 Parker street, Vancouver, BC, V6A 2H2.
  • Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm at 40 hrs/week minimum
    (occasionally in the evenings and week-ends – mostly for events and tradeshows)

At ByNature, we strive to reconnect people with nature by providing products that bring

interiors to life and make people feel good. Even though ByNature has been growing quite fast over the past 6 years, it can still be considered as a young and small company. We are a team of 10 people, we have a 600 sq.ft office and 1500 sq.ft of warehouse (in a basement). We realize we cannot afford a logistic expert with 6+ years of expertise and we are hoping to find somebody with the desire to learn and grow with a cool, young, dynamic and growing company.

ByNature is looking for a new Junior Operations Manager to embrace ByNature’s vision. You will be working closely with the production and logistics team to improve the quality of our overall operations and logistics procedures, stock management and planning.

The Junior Operations Manager has complete responsibility for inbound operations. She/he will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget. She/he will also be required to manage the production team to drive productivity and ensure quality control while building relationships to maintain a great atmosphere. She/he will also ensure continuous improvement of products and help bring new ideas to the team.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and develop the new ERP system
  2. Manage the production and logistics team
  3. Work with sales team to identify project needs and update the ERP accordingly
  4. BoM and routing to plan production
  5. Update the ERP and launch production orders
  6. Work on continuous improvement projects

Requirements

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in logistics, engineering or operations
  • 3+ years experience with ERP and process improvement as you will have to develop the new ERP
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgement in stressful situations
  • Management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
  • Bilingual English/French is a plus

Eligibility Requirements Summary

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be courteous, reliable, diligent and be able to work independently
  • Plant knowledge is a plus but not mandatory (you will also learn a lot with us)
  • Great capacity to improvise and adapt to any kind of unexpected situation
  • Must be able to handle requests on the fly

Horticulturist / Landscape Estimator

ByNature is looking for a new Horticulturist/Landscape Estimator/ to embrace ByNature’s vision. You will be working directly with our project manager on new projects from the estimating phase to the design and then the completion. We are looking for somebody who is a quick-learner, trustworthy, responsible and professional.

Please be sure you have the following requirements before applying:
– A degree/training in horticulture or landscaping (plant knowledge is mandatory).
– A valid work permit (Canadian citizen or permanent resident).
– Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel).
– A valid driver’s license.

The following skills would be an asset:
– Experience in rendering software (Photoshop, CAD or Sketchup)
– Bilingual French/English.

Tasks & Responsibilities

You will be assigned to new projects. First you will have to build quotations, choose the plants, create the plant design, create some basic renderings and then handle the supply and schedule until completion of the project.
Internally, you will work closely with our project manager and our production team to make sure they manufacture according to your specifications. Your plant knowledge will help providing insight and knowledge on plant physiology and environmental requirements.

You will also have to manage client expectations and make sure that all projects are professionally scheduled, managed and completed. Most importantly, you will need to be highly organized, flexible to deal with issues on site where conditions are variable, and be a great problem solver.

  1. Prepare project proposals and develop project plans, plant choice, schedules and budget
  2. Interact with customers to clearly understand business needs and expectations
  3. Analyze and resolve project issues in timely and accurate manner
  4. Work with the sales team to develop integrated biophilic features
  5. Bring your projects to completion in a very professional way.
