Intermediate Accountant (Vancouver)

ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Controller and the Owner, the Intermediate Accountant is responsible for the accuracy of all entries to the ledger accounts and reconciling the subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. This position requires daily interaction with the staff located in both Vancouver and Toronto offices via email, phone, and/or internet meetings and an ability to work with minimum supervision. The position requires a working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and provincial and cross-border tax rules.
RESPONSABILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:
Accounting Tasks
· Issue progress invoices, receive, enter and apply client’s payments to invoices.
· Ensure client invoices are allocated to a job, class, location and that the tax code matches the sales location
· Recording and preparing accounts receivable statements including back charges
· Enter vendors’ bills and credit card receipts, code to items, allocate to a job/class and location, and enter payments
· Communicate with staff to obtain missing documents/details
· Bank and credit card reconciliations
· Maintain client and vendor’s files
· Maintain aged accounts receivable for review with owner monthly and support the collection process
· Maintain aged payable for payments, process regular cheque run on time
· Maintain employee information and process weekly payroll
· Assist in Job costing, compare costs with budgets, reporting variances to owner – support management with key performance indicators (KPI’s)
· Assist controller with back ups for monthly, quarterly, yearly reporting
· Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and month-end working papers
· Contribute to a cooperative team environment and communicate on a regular basis with sales and operations departments
· Open mail and share with owner and/or controller
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2+ years of multiple provinces and states accounting experience
· Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting
· Intermediate Excel and Word computer skills
· Experience with QuickBooks Online required
· Able to manage, adapt and change priorities at a moment’s notice
· Able to learn and adapt quickly, work under pressure while maintaining the highest level of accuracy

Production Assistant (Toronto)

Salary: $18 – $21/ hour

ByNature brings natural green walls to the indoor space and is currently recruiting in its production studio. We are one of Canada’s leading biophilic companies, paving the way for a greener future for everyone! Work consists of manufacturing preserved moss and plant panels by hand and with the help of some production tools. Must be able to work with your hands, have an eye for detail, be efficient, have good common sense, follow best standards of safety and be able to improvise and adapt to last minute requests.
Experience in some kind of construction/landscaping job will be an asset. Please note that you will be also working with a team of 5-6 other production assistants and supervisors – you will need to be respectful, professional, hard working and someone who likes to work in a collaborative team environment.
The position is 40hrs per week – Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Our office and workshop is located at 20 Ashwarren road, North York. Staff events, training and tools will be provided. Must be available to work immediately.

Project Manager/Estimator (Vancouver)

Description
In this position, you will be in direct contact with clients as well as working alongside our Design and Project Management team. Your duties will include answering calls and responding to emails from potential clients regarding our products, with the goal of facilitating sales. To excel in this role, you must have excellent organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with your colleagues to ensure the efficient relay of important information. As the first point of contact for our new clients, your role involves a variety of tasks such as estimating project costs, conducting site visits and consultations, following up with clients, creating quotes, and having a thorough understanding of all our available products. We are looking for someone who is a quick learner, can handle multiple tasks efficiently, has great attention to detail, is dependable, independent, and professional, and has previous experience in sales and/or estimation.

Tasks & Responsibilities
In your role, you’ll be the go-to person for potential clients. Your main goal is to help them understand our products and find the best options that suit their needs.
