Living Table

The Living Table is designed to mimic how plants naturally absorb water from the ground. Through capillary action, water is drawn upwards by the table’s sub irrigation system which provides the ideal balance of moisture and aeration, eliminating the need for drainage and reducing time spent watering.

How it works

The living table was designed by David Brenner, founding Principal of Habitat Horticulture as a further manifestation of his desire to bring greenery into people’s everyday lives. The Living Table provides a vibrant focal point where people can enjoy the positive effects of plants around a beautiful piece of furniture.

Caring for your living table

• Place in an a location that gets bright indirect light

• Lift one corner of the Growtex irrigation mat to expose the drainage mat

• Pour water onto drainage mat until it’s completely submersed (approx. 2.3 gallons for small tables and 5.6 gallons for large tables)

• Repeat watering as needed every 2-4 weeks depending on plant type and environment

• To prune or replant, carefully remove glass and place on a soft surface and trim leaves so they are not touching the glass
