Plant Maintenance

Supporting living spaces over time.

Living plants bring energy, softness, and movement to a space, and they flourish with consistent, knowledgeable care.

Our maintenance services are designed to protect both plant health and design integrity. We don’t simply maintain plants; we maintain the experience they were intended to create.

Because our team understands how each living installation was designed, maintenance is approached with the same attention to proportion, balance, and long-term performance as the original project.

What maintenance includes

Our maintenance programs typically include:

  • Scheduled watering and pruning
  • Plant health monitoring and early issue detection
  • Irrigation system checks and adjustments
  • Soil and nutrient management
  • Seasonal rotations or plant replacements when needed
  • Cleaning and detailing of planters and surrounding areas

Maintenance schedules are tailored to each installation based on plant types, light conditions, and how the space is used.

Informed, consistent care

Our maintenance team is familiar with living walls, planters, and integrated systems, and understands how they interact with preserved or artificial elements within the same space. This integrated knowledge allows us to:

  • Detect and resolve issues early
  • Adjust care routines as environmental conditions change
  • Maintain visual consistency over time
  • Ensure the installation continues to reflect the original design intent

Our goal is long-term plant health with minimal disruption to your day-to-day operations.

Frequently Asked Questions

We primarily maintain installations designed and installed by ByNature, as this allows us to ensure the highest quality and plant health standards. However, we are happy to assess existing installations created by others. If the system meets our service standards - or can be adjusted to do so - we can often take over maintenance.

Routine maintenance includes watering, pruning, cleaning, fertilizing, pest monitoring, and general plant care. Plants that fail to thrive under our care will be replaced under our plant maintenance guarantee. Plant loss caused by environmental conditions, misuse, neglect, third-party interference, HVAC issues, or cleaning chemicals is not covered under standard maintenance terms.

Our regular business hours are 8:30-4:30. If you require service outside of these hours, we will do our best to accommodate based on availability and site access requirements. Additional fees may apply.

If we identify an issue with the irrigation system during a maintenance visit, we will notify you immediately and recommend next steps. Minor adjustments may be completed during service. Larger repairs or component replacements will be quoted separately before any work is carried out. Proper irrigation is essential to plant health, so we prioritize addressing issues promptly.

Yes - although significantly less than living installations. Preserved and artificial installations benefit from periodic cleaning, dust removal, structural checks, and light refreshing to maintain their appearance and longevity. We can offer tailored maintenance plans to keep these installations looking pristine year-round.
